In the years 1906-10 Italian company SIAD assembled French cars of the Darracq brand. In 1909 the factory was taken over by Anonim Lombardo Fabbrica Automobili (ALFA) group, which, in 1910 produced first own model ALFA 24 HP. In 1915 Nicolo Romeo became the main shareholder in the company that in 1918 changed the trade brand to Alfa Romeo. In 1986 Fiat took over state-owned company Alfa Romeo. In the years 2002-04 Alfa Romeo 156 was assembled in Thailand.

In 2005 one ended production of GTV and 156 sedan, in 2006 - 156 Sportwagon and Crosswagon Q4, and in 2007 - 166. Future plans: 2009. - 149, 159/159 Sportwagon restyling, Brera/Spider restyling; 2010 – MiTo Cabrio, Duetto roadster, Kamel/Cxover SUV; 2011 - 169.
