Between the years of 1898 – 1909 Ettore Bugatti designed nine cars for the following companies: Prinetti & Stucchi, De Dietrich, Mathis and Deutz. In 1909 he constructed the prototype of model number ten. Between the years 1910-1956, 7950 units were manufactured in the French Molsheim. Romano Artioli the Italian industrialist constructed 139 units of Bugatti EB 110 between the years 1991-1995 in Italy. In 1998 Volkswagen purchased the Bugatti trademark rights and on 15 December 2000 established in Molsheim in France the Bugatti Automobiles SAS company. Volkswagen presented the following Bugatti prototypes: in Paris '1998 - EB 118, in Geneva '1999 - EB 218, in Frankfurt '1999 - EB 18/3 Chiron, in Tokio '1999 - EB 18/3 Veyron, and in Paris in 2000 - EB 16.4 Veyron. The final version of EB 16.4 Veyron presented in Geneva 2001 has been manufactured from May 2005.

The latest releases: Frankfurt '2007 r. - HB 16.4 Veyron Pure Sang; Geneva '2008 - HB 16.4 Veyron Fbg par Hermes; August 2008 - Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport targa. Plans for the future: 2009 - coupe GT with its engine power increased to reach the maximum of 1250 Horse-Power (the maximum speed 444 km/h); 2011 – 4-person Bugatti vehicle.

Bugatti EB 16.4 Veyron
The legendary Bugatti trademark has undergone the period of renaissance under the Volkswagen management. The studio type of EB 18.3 Veyron with 18-cylinder engine was presented during the 1999 Tokio Car Show, and the following version of 2000 Paris Car Show was released under the following model code EB 16.4 Veyron. The final version of EB 16.4 Veyron, was presented in Geneva in 2001, and its serial production started in May 2005. The car body-work made of aluminum and carbon fiber is set on a spatial frame made of light materials. The engine unit that consists of 16 cylinders located within a W arrangement possesses jump capacity of 8 liters, 4 turbo-compressors and its total power amounts to 1001 Horse-Power. The four wheel drive is transmitted with application with 7-gear, sequential gear box. Currently it is one of the most expensive vehicles on earth. At the 2007 Frankfurt Car Show the new version under the name of HB 16.4 Veyron Pure Sang was presented, and at the 2008 Geneva Car Show Bugatti Veyron Fbg par Hermès version equipped with exclusive leather interior designed by Emile Hermès was released.

Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport
In August 2008 the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport model with the targa type of body-work was presented. The vehicle is different from the basic model only with a different roof form, thanks to which passengers of this exclusive vehicle may be easily identified.
