The 1976 established company, Changcheng Motor, initially manufactured small amounts of small busses and trucks. In 1994 the first passenger vehicle Changcheng CC 6470 was presented. Currently from March 1996 the company has been manufacturing Deer series pick-ups, from 2001 - Sailor-Sailing series pick ups, and from April 2002 Safe-Saifo SUVs. From 1997 Changcheng have been exported under the Great Wall brand. Changcheng (the Great Wall) vehicles are manufactured in China and area assembled in Iran (from 2004 SUVs and pick-ups), Nigeria (from 2004 only pick-ups), Russia (from 2006 SUVs and pick-ups), Ukraine (from 2007 SUVs and pick-ups) and in Vietnam (from 2006 only pick-ups). In 2010 the company is planning to manufacture 500 thousand vehicles.
