In October 2002 General Motors took over 42,1% of Daewoo shares (from 2003 - 44,6%), with the 14,9% Suzuki share, 10,6% Chinese SAIC, and the remaining 29,9% was taken over by banks. The name of the company was changed to GM Daewoo. From 2005 the GM Daewoo is in 50.9% owned by GM Holden, in 11.2% by Suzuki and 9,9% by SAIC. GM Daewoo, apart from vehicle manufactured under the GM Daewoo brand, from 2003 also manufactures Chevrolet vehicles, which are sold in the USA, Canada and some African, Asian, South American and Eastern European countries. From January 2005 they are also available at the Western European markets. The GM Daewoo cars sold under the Chevrolet brand are also manufactured in Mexico (from August 2008), Poland (from October 2007), India (from 2003), Thailand (from 2003), China (from 2003) and Egypt (after January 2007) and are assembler in Ukraine (from 2004), Russia (from 2005), Colombia (from 2004), Venezuela (from 2004), Pakistan (from 2005), Kazakhstan (from 2007) and Uzbekistan (from 2007).
The latest releases: Geneva'2006 - 2nd generation of Epica, Captiva (based on the 2004 S3X model); Paris '2006 - concept car coupe WTCC Ultra; New York '2007 - concept car hatchback Beat, concept car minivan Groove, concept car SUV Trax; Frankfurt'2007 - 2nd generation of Aveo hatchback 5D; Los Angeles' 2007 - 2nd generation of Aveo5 ; November 2007 - Captiva Sport; Geneva '2008 - 2nd generation of Aveo hatchback 3D; Paris'2008 - Cruze. In 2006 the serial production of Evanda/Epica sedans, and in 2008 of the Kalos/Aveo models was finished. Plans for the future: 2009 - Beat, Cruze (J300) hatchback/wagon, Epica restyling, 2nd generation of Rezzo/Tacuma/Vivant; 2010 3rd generation of Spark/Matiz M300 and a small SUV (Belgian production).
