Between the years of 1904-13 the Maxwell-Briscoe Motor Co. manufactured cars under the Maxwell-Briscoe trademark. Between the years of 1910-12 the company was a part of the United States Motor Co.. In 1910 this concern also took over the following companies: Columbia (which manufactured vehicles under the following trademarks: Columbia 1895-1913, Morris & Salom 1895-96, Electric 1896-1900 and Riker 1896-1902), Alden-Sampson (which manufactured vehicles under the following trademarks: Moyea 1904-05 and Sampson 1905-13), Dayton (Stoddard-Dayton cars 1904-13), Brush (1907-13) and Courier (1909-13). In 1912 the name of the Maxwell-Briscoe company was changed to Standard Motor Co., and in 1913 to: Maxwell Motor Co. Also in 1913 the Maxwell-Briscoe trademark was changed to Maxwell. In November 1921 r. Walter P. Chrysler bought the Maxwell Company, which in 1922 took over the Chalmers Company (which manufactured vehicles under the following trademarks: Thomas 1903-19, Thomas Detroit 1906-08, Chalmers Detroit 1908-10, Chalmers 1910-24 and Saxon 1913-22). The new company operated under the name of Maxwell-Chalmers Corp. In December 1923 the fist Chrysler 70 was released. In June 1925 the name of the Maxwell-Chalmers Corp. company underwent another transformation and this time it was called Chrysler Corporation. Towards the end of 1925 Chrysler finished the process of Maxwell vehicle manufacturing and in July 1928 it took over the Dodge Brothers Company. From July 1928 until June 2001 Chrysler manufactured vehicles under the Plymouth trademark and from August 1928 until December 1960 under the De Soto trademark, from 1954 until June 1975 and again from October 1980 until 1983 under the Imperial trademark. After World War II Chrysler took over a few foreign companies: between the years of 1958-69 Simca (in 1958 - 15%, n 1963 - 63%, in 1967 - 77%, in 1969 - 100%), between the years of 1964-67 - Rootes Group (trademarks: Hillman, Humber, Singer and Sunbeam) and 1963-67 – the Spanish Barreiros. Towards the end of 1970s the concern was on the verge of bankruptcy and in 1978 it sold all of its European factories to Peugeot. In the following years the Brazil and Argentina plants were taken over by VW, in Colombia and Venezuela - GM, in Australia and South Africa - Mitsubishi, etc. In 1987 Chrysler took over fourth US largest manufacturer - the AMC concern including the Jeep trademark. The AMC models were between the years of 1987-98 manufactured by Chrysler under the Eagle trademark. In May 1998 a merge contract of Chrysler with the Daimler-Benz concern (respectively 43 do 57%) was signed. In November 1998 DaimlerChrysler AG was established. In August 2007 DaimlerChrysler sold 80,1% of Chrysler to the Cerberus concern (including Dodge and Jeep trademarks). The newly created Daimler AG retained 19,9% of the newly created Chrysler Holding LLC. Vehicle under the Chrysler trademark have been manufactured in the USA, Canada (from 1925), Mexico, Venezuela (1950-2002), Austria (from 1991), Germany (2003-2007), Taiwan (from 2006) and China (from 2006 under the trademark of Beijing Chrysler and from 2007 under the Dongnan Chrysler), and it is also assembled in Ukraine (2004-2005).

In 2005 the concern finished the process of production of the Neon sedans and in 2006 – 1st generation of Sebring sedans and 2nd generation of Sebring Convertible, in 2007 – 4th generation of Town & Country/Grand Voyager minivans, in November 2007 - Pacifica (in Canada) minivans, and finally in December 2007 - PT Cruiser Convertible models (in Mexico). Between the years of 1989-2005 Mitsubishi USA (in its Norma/Illinois plants) manufactured the sports models of Chrysler Sebring Coupe (2000-2005) for the Chrysler concern. The German Karmann company also conveyed the final assembly of the Chrysler Crossfire model between the years of 2003-2007 and Chrysler Crossfire Roadster between the years of 2004-2007. In 2009 customers will be given the opportunity to purchase a small sedan (manufactured in Japan by Nissan), and in 2010 - the new 300. Chrysler including its Dodge, Jeep, Beijing Chrysler, Dongnan Chrysler, Dongnan Dodge is world’s 12th largest car manufacturer worldwide.
